Rodney Matthews
When I was about 10 years old I bought a poster called 'inverted landscape'... I had it on my wall for years. I just really liked it.
Some 28 years later I saw the artwork for two album covers, painted for a friend called Ian. He was from a Christian thrash metal band and the artist of the Album art was Rodney Matthews. It then clicked, he was the same artist who painted the original for the poster, from my childhood. Not only that, but he is also a Christian. He was also born and lived just a few miles away* from our office/home, in Paulton*, Somerset. Weird... but very cool.
His work is fantasy/sci-fi, and is extremely well known and respected in art circles... not so much the church perhaps? I bought a massive print recently of "In Search of Forever" - brilliant!
SO... If you haven't seen his stuff, do have a look...

E-paint
We've just received a copy of Corel Painter 12.
As we already use a Wacom Intuos tablet, we should have some fun in the weeks to come.
Talk about painting by numbers - only, they'll be digital (numbers)
We'll post any digital paintings, that are of interest.
Should be fun!!!

Symbolism and Art in the London Olympics
This building called "The Orbit" has been unveiled in advance of the London Olympics. (Remember the olympic games are an act of worship to the "gods" of ancient Greece) - Opening "Ceremony" !!!
The Finished design, built next to the main new stadium, starts as an abstract, tower, with red (snake-like) steelworks spiralling up around it.
Here's an early sketch by the "artist"
The 'artist', Anish Kapoor, got inspiration from "The tower of Babel" (Like the EC building in Strasbourg)
"...You need to journey round the object, and through it. Like a Tower of Babel, it requires real participation from the public” — Anish Kapoor
You can verify the link between this construction and the Tower of Babel (symbol of global rebellion though humanist/occult "unity") on Mr Kapoor's own web page here: http://www.anishkapoor.com/332/Orbit.html
“There is a kind of medieval sense to it of reaching up to the sky, building the impossible. A procession, if you like. It's a long winding spiral: a folly that aspires to go even above the clouds and has something mythic about it.” — Anish Kapoor
Some dictionary definitions of the word ORBIT (Emphasis in Bold, is mine)
1. the curved path, usually elliptical, described by a planet, satellite, spaceship, etc., around a celestial body, as the sun.
2. the usual course of one's life or range of one's activities.
3. the sphere of power or influence, as of a nation or person: a small nation in the Russian orbit.
4. Physics.(in Bohr theory) the path traced by an electron revolving around the nucleus of an atom.
5. Anat. - an ancient semitic war goddesss - cohort of Baal (Wikilink)
6. the bony cavity of the skull that contains the eye; eye socket. the eye.
7. Zool.the part surrounding the eye of a bird or insect.
Here's the creepy Mascots for the games...
The one on the left (with the pyramid and eye on it’s head) is called “Wenlock” after the Shropshire town of Wenlock in the UK; where in 1850, a Dr William Penny Brookes founded the Wenlock Olympian Society Annual Games. This inspired the revival of the “Olympic” games in Athens in 1896
The word mascot is used to describe anything which brought luck to a household. The word is derived from masqu - meaning "masked" or "concealed" as in Masquerade. ("for Satan himself, masquerades as an angel of light etc?")
It is slang among gamblers, derived from the Occitan word masco, meaning “witch” (perhaps from Portuguese mascotto, meaning "witchcraft"), and also mascoto, meaning “spell”

Do the 'Nimrod stance' anyone?
Oh and here's a picture of "The Shard" - another building going up in London at the moment...
Sleep well tonight...

Creatus - what does it mean?
Creatus.net... Creatus? Create-Us? What the...
We may put this on a page at some point; but in case you were wondering...
We may put this on a page at some point; but in case you were wondering...
- Creatus is a latin word that means 'created'
- it is from the biblical-greek word 'Ktidzo', used in Colossians 1:15-17;
- These words, creatus and ktidzo, are the same as the Hebrew word for created, 'Bara', as used in Genesis 1:1.
The dictionary definition of creatus is:
- created, having been created, made, having been made, produced, having been produced
- begotten, having been begotten
- chosen, having been chosen
It was the nearest domain-name available on the internet, to the word Create or Created. The greek equivalent 'Ktidzo" is difficult to remember (or spell) and the hebrew 'Bara' would have been good, only we found out it's a style of Japanese Manga Comic book aimed at the homosexual market... not really appropriate for us, a? lol.
So creatus, (sounds a bit like Create-Us... He created Us...) was the one to go for... so after checking with our leader Lynne Hamilton, we nabbed the domain name 'creatus.net'. Most of the other "creatus" sites out there are web designers, bloggers or monsters from roleplaying games.
So there you have it.

This test page was written from a remote computer. This means that FIN leaders, wherever they are in the world, can post an article on a certain web page and it will instantly appear here on this website. Very simple and very handy!!!
